The BOYS and Girl

The BOYS and Girl
THE MONKEYS: Lelia, Spencer, Kaden, Tyson, Parker (and Josh, not shown here)
A boy is a piece of skin stretched over an appetite, a noise covered with smudges, the problem of our times, the hope of the world. Every boy born is evidence that God is not yet discouraged with men.

Kaden's 3rd Birthday!!!

Kaden turned 3!  It was such a fun day for him--every mother's dream and relief.  Here is a glimpse of how he spent the day:

First, the birthday chicken came and delivered cereal!!  SUCH A TREAT!!  Kaden was thrilled to have cereal for breakfast (makes it an easy morning for Josh).

Then Kaden's girlfriends came over (he said no to the boys, saying they might hit him).  They played for a bit then they had dirt dessert instead of cake...the gummy worms made it quite a hit.  Those were the only candles he blew out for his birthday...we sorta skipped dessert with the family.

All the ladies and Kaden.

Spencer was the only other boy at the party...he enjoyed it.

Getting the last drop.

Opening gifts...he loved them all...and always enjoys a new car.

We took the family to dinner, both for Kaden's birthday and because Parker and Tyson had brought home excellent report cards yet again.
Kaden was happy to forfeit his pasta dinner for french fries and lemonaide.

After the restaurant he got his gifts from his family.  Lots of excitement from all the boys!

He called the bubble wand his light saber.

The boys all made quick work to the playroom to build his new train set.  A great buy for kids of all ages!!

It was a fun, happy birthday for Kaden.  At the end of the day (possibly prompted by his father), he came and gave me a big hug and said thank you for the birthday party with friends and for his presents.  He's such a fun kid.  He was really hard as a 2-year-old, but now that he is figuring out his place in life a little bit better, he is turning into a sweetheart (whew!).  He loves to give me hugs and kisses at any random time (his favorite being when I am in the bathroom) and tell me he loves me.  It's those things that make the discipline and hard stuff all worth it.  He will be a fun kid to watch grow and learn...he's already so bright and capable, and full of mischief!

Crazy Dayz of April

We had A LOT go on during the month of April.  I am going to separate it into a few posts, for organizational purposes.  We have 2 birthdays plus Easter, so yeah, it's a bit.

I'll start with the daily fun of the month:

Spencer made our Green Smoothie Face for the month.

If you thought my house was anything NEAR quiet, you were wrong. Dead wrong.  One afternoon it was a different kind of noise...and I kinda thought it was fun.  I'm not a grump all the time...yay!

Spencer has watched his brothers read all kinds of books, in all kinds of positions, so he was giving it a try.  (I think he is demonstrating one of Parker's favorite reading positions.) He grabbed a magazine, assumed the position, and I think he tried to read out loud.  There was a magazine casualty.

It's a Spencer highlight post, because here we see Spencer showing off his mad basketball skills.  Yeah, we're hoping for some money in about 18 years to come from this one.  He'll be tall enough for the NBA, for sure!!!  (At 15 months apart, he is barely a few inches shorter than Kaden...it's crazy. He's only 21 months and wearing 3T.)
